- The constitution (attached as appendix A) was approved in the AGM on 6 Oct 2025 and unanimously endorsed today.
- All residents are welcome as members to all meetings; still missing representatives who are Southway Housing tenants, and reps who live west of Hardy Lane (Cundiff Rd side).
- Conversation to be had regarding possibility of committee meetings being held on other days and possibility of remote attendance if facilities are not available. Fi to check what other days may work for everyone (weekend) every 3-4 meetings.
2. Budget updates and bank a/c
- Due to the treasurer’s absence, balance and budget update was a brief estimate/overview and will be provided in full at the next meeting.
- Beautiful South (from Southway Housing) grant of £1,000 was fully spent on September newsletter printing, AGM food, planting event bulbs and refreshments.
- Neighbourhood Investment Fund (aka NIF, from Manchester City Council) has awarded us £2,500 for further community events and communication.
- Ronald intends to apply to Jigsaw Homes community grant of £2,500 (deadline: Dec 2025); Fi to share previous applications for inspiration from previous applications.
- The committee agreed the authorised signatories below for the bank account, and agreed signing off all financial matters requires 2 out of these 3:
-
- Fiona Vincer
- Phil Gay
- Eran Livne
3. Feedback: AGM, planting event, online survey
- AGM 6/10 was a great success, well done to all who contributed to making it happen.
- Planting event 26/10 went well but hard work, a few new members joined the Whatsapp group. It is recommended future events need min involvement of 3 Committee members.
- Online survey results to be shared and discussed at the next meeting. Please write email addresses on Whatsapp group so Fi can share.
4. Next events
- Litter picks: we need a lead to book the equipment to be delivered to/collected from their house and to send out monthly reminders. It was suggested to check if Sunday works better than Saturday. Fi to contact Harvy and Tina as the most committed attendees; Also Aled who came to the last litter pick for the first time.
- Advent window display: Eran to set up a subgroup on Whatsapp to assemble 24 (or more) houses interested to decorate a window during December; Fi and Colette to co-lead, if there’s interest organise a crafts session with artist Jolene last weekend of November, to be paid + materials; reach out to Golf Club as venue; Mike to make a digital map of the trail.
- Spring / summer festival: Fi to reach out to Harvy who organised Burrowsfest, get ideas and volunteers to become a subcommittee to organise; also to reach out to Barlow Hall School. Suggested for mid July, before school break. To be discussed again at the next meeting.
5. Communication
Not discussed at length beyond acknowledging the need for non-digital communication. Suggested to reach out to elderly neighbours and gather their feedback or suggestions. Further newsletters to be discussed as part of the 2026 plan in the next meeting.
6. AOB
No other issues raised.
