1. Matters arising

  • Minutes of the previous meeting approved; the formal process for approving future minutes to be discussed in the next meeting. Minutes to be made public on Google Drive; Harvy & Eran will discuss where to store all our digital assets and documents and bring a proposal to the next meeting.
  • Feedback from the online survey: not everyone can access; Eran to summarise and share on the Whatsapp group - for us all to consider when planning for 2026.

2. Feedback from recent events

  • Last litterpick 23/11: despite horrendous weather it was a success and well attended; Tess happy to continue taking the lead, Derya to support when Tess is unavailable; will stick to a monthly schedule, 3rd Sunday, 10-11; in the new year Tess will plan 3 months ahead with different meeting points to cover the neighbourhood.
  • Advent crafts session 29/11: Fi reports that 17 ‘windows’ were in attendance, a few new families; session very much enjoyed by all. People are keen to join the Advent walk, also are up for volunteering, more crafts events, family events, games nights, walks/hikes. Jooles suggested to run a bee keeping session.

3. Future events

  • December:
    • Advent walk Saturday 20/12 4pm, Maitland/Darley, finishing on Mottram. Mike bringing speaker with xmas music.
    • Next litterpick Sunday 21/12, 10-11am, Mottram/Darley.
  • A bit too early to make concrete plans for 2026; everyone is invited to think about it before the January meeting. Possible new venues:
    • Colette tried to contact the golf club unsuccessfully; will try again in the new year.
    • Fi spoke to Barlow Hall school about their front yard as a potential venue for a summer event - school will possibly allow and will revert with caretaker rates; more to think about - toilets, number of attendees, activities, finances, liability insurance - Dave, Tess, Mike & Fi to chat and brainstorm further.
  • Debbie will attend next meeting to ask to publicise her events on the Whatsapp group (which was already approved and welcomed); also looking for a volunteer steward of green spaces; also wants to lead (?) a subgroup on gardening; also would like to commit to next autumn’s planting event in order to prepare and mulch the ground in advance. Eran pointed out we should consider green spaces west of Hardy Lane (Cundiff Rd side) to involve more of the neighbours.

4. Bank account and review of finances

  • Phil continues to chase coop bank to check if our recent change of signatories has gone through and confirm when money can be accessed.
  • We have approx £2,100 still available from NIF, after covering expenses for Advent crafts event - materials and artist.
  • Fi shared previous applications with Ronald to assist with the application to Jigsaw Homes; TBD in next meeting.
  • Eran asked if we can accept donations, in light of people asking to contribute towards the crafts event; Phil confirmed we can; we should agree how and when to ask for donations or offer a link to the account (once opened). Will go towards building a reserve. Fi for this year we can direct donations to Barlow Hall neighbourhood xmas dinner.

5. AOB

  • Fi to check with the coop if meetings can start 30 mins later (6.30-7.30pm), then we can continue with the Wednesday schedule.
  • Fi plans to host a committee social Saturday 3/1, details to follow. Will be a good opportunity to take group photo to share on notice boards.
