- Music: Fi following up with a DJ to provide music
- We’ll have an ice cream van and the first 50 people will get a free ice cream
- Stall around the green sub-group (to be launched at the event) and environmental issues, possibly with involvement from Groundwork and/or Debbie from Southway
- Contact local community police to get anti-crime freebies and them to attend the event
- Encourage people to bring a picnic
- Ken Foster bike repairs (no cost to us)
- Can we get sponsorship to fund some of the costs?
- Suggested we provide some catering - probably from Vicky who did the AGM
- What do we want people to get out of the event? And what do we want from them? Ideas include have a map for people to say what they do/ don’t like about the area, get to know people, what do people want to see/ do in the area, are people interested in joining the group, promote the WhatsApp group and sub-groups for ways to get involved, sign up sheet, what did we learn at the AGM that we can build on, ask people on the WhatsApp group to tell their neighbours about the group and the event, have posters around the estate, promote in newsletter
Budget: Unity Arts £180, music cost TBC but allow £500, ice cream van cost TBC, catering cost TBC, road closure £160
PART 2: Everything else!
- Litter picks: Derya has volunteered to organise the next three events; 26 April, 17 May, 28 June
- Newsletter: Our next newsletter will be produced primarily to promote the summer event, will also include dates for group meetings and litter picks. To be completed mid-April so we can deliver to all homes on the estate ideally a month before the event. Would be great to get a volunteer to organise the distribution.
- Group meetings: Next few dates are Sat 9 May time TBC, Wed 3 June 5pm Co-op community room, Wed 1 July 5pm Co-op community room.
- Public liability insurance: Colette has got quotes from 3 organisations, agreed at last meeting to go with Ripe Insurance around £82. Has since checked cover and that covers us for £5million, only £97 for £10 million cover. This is for annual cover not just the summer event.
