AGM summary notes and agenda for next general meeting

AGM held on 6 Oct 2025, 7-8:30pm

Venue: St Barnabas church hall, Hardy Lane

About 30 neighbours attended from across the neighbourhood and were greeted with warm welcome and excellent tacos, fruit and desserts from Vicky ([email protected], 07793142994)

  1. After Fi introduced the group, we heard what people liked in the neighbourhood: key themes were calm and quiet, access to green spaces, diverse population, sense of community and neighbours support.
  2. In the formal part of the evening, assisted by councillor Dave Rawson, we elected a new committee: Chair: Fi; Treasurer: Phil; Secretary: Eran Other committee members: Colette, Derya, Harvinder, Mike, Nigel, Ron, Tess We approved the constitution
  3. In breakout tables we discussed issues and ideas on the following themes:
    1. environment, gardening and green spaces
    2. road safety, traffic and cycling
    3. art and community projects
    4. wellbeing, support and skill sharing

Very positive feedback was received: good planning, lovely energy, friendly, quality food, excitement about future activities.

Upcoming events

  • Saturday 18/10 11am-12pm: Litter pick, meeting on the corner of Godbert/Darley
  • Wednesday 29/10 12-3pm: Bulb planting on Mottram green
  • Wednesday 5/11 5-6pm: monthly meeting in the community room above the co-op on Barlow Moor Rd / Hardy Lane
